Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. The name comes from the Koine Greek amethystos  "intoxicate", a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. Ancient Greeks wore amethyst and carved drinking vessels from it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication while medieval European soldiers wore amethyst amulets as protection in battle in the belief that amethysts heal people and keep them cool-headed. Beads of amethyst have been found in Anglo-Saxon graves in England.

Our signature style is a simple series of lines and geometric shapes that create an interwoven feeling of depth, evoking runic symbols and the spirit of patterns from ancient cultures. These markings are inscribed over smooth contours and framed by borders that are reminiscent of Celtic panels and heraldic armour.

Our silver jewellery is pre-aged to have a slightly lived in feel. It is oxidised so the pattern lines stand out. The top surface is brightly polished and softly distressed. As your item is worn it will continue to look this way with any little knocks and scrapes adding to its timeless presence.
