A sterling silver ring with a hand carved pattern design and a partially open setting holding a malachite gemstone 12mm.
Malachite is a copper ore known for its banded or concentric patterns with different shades of green. It's name derives from the Greek molochites lithos, "mallow-green stone" due to its resemblance to the leaves of the mallow plant. It was extensively mined at the Great Orme Mines in Britain 3,800 years ago using stone and bone tools. Ancient Egyptians believed that the afterlife contained an eternal paradise, referred to as the "Field of Malachite".
Our signature style is a simple series of lines and geometric shapes that create an interwoven feeling of depth, evoking runic symbols and the spirit of patterns from ancient cultures. These markings are inscribed over smooth contours and framed by borders that are reminiscent of Celtic panels and heraldic armour.
Our silver jewellery is pre-aged to have a slightly lived in feel. It is oxidised so the pattern lines stand out. The top surface is brightly polished and softly distressed. As your item is worn it will continue to look this way with any little knocks and scrapes adding to its timeless presence.
We love how the striping of this vibrant gemstone compliments our signature pattern style.
