A sterling silver ring with a hand carved pattern design and a partially open setting holding a Lab grown ruby gemstone 12mm.
A lab grown ruby is a gemstone that is created in a laboratory instead of one formed naturally within the earth. These gemstones, although man made, have the same chemical, visual and physical properties as mined ruby.
Ruby is a variety of the mineral corundum and is one of the most popular traditional jewellery gemstones. Revered since ancient times as a potent symbol of power and protection rubies would be used to adorn weapons and armour. The name ruby comes from ruber, Latin for red. This colour is due to the presence of chromium in the mineral which separates it from the other species of corundum such as sapphire.
Our signature style is a simple series of lines and geometric shapes that create an interwoven feeling of depth, evoking runic symbols and the spirit of patterns from ancient cultures. These markings are inscribed over smooth contours and framed by borders that are reminiscent of Celtic panels and heraldic armour.
Our silver jewellery is pre-aged to have a slightly lived in feel. It is oxidised so the pattern lines stand out. The top surface is brightly polished and softly distressed. As your item is worn it will continue to look this way with any little knocks and scrapes adding to its timeless presence.
We love that this beautiful gemstone sings with a clarity and strength of colour that, if natural, would have a very high value.
